The highest certification for Oracle databases is not Oracle OCM (Oracle Certified Master). It is, in fact, the Oracle Maximum Availability Certified Master (MACM). To earn this prestigious certification, you must hold five other challenging certifications concurrently.

Let’s take Oracle 12c as an example:

The journey begins with Oracle Certified Expert: Oracle Database 12c: RAC and Grid Infrastructure Administrator.

This is followed by the Data Guard certification: Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Database 12c: Data Guard Administrator.

The third one is the OCP certification: Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Professional.

These three certifications require passing the relevant exams. Once you obtain these three certifications, you will automatically receive the fourth certification:

Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Database 12c Maximum Availability certification —- a testament to your combined knowledge of RAC, Data Guard, and core database administration for high availability.

The fifth and final requirement is the rigorous Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Master (OCM) certification exam. This in-depth assessment further validates your mastery.

With these five certifications, you can obtain Oracle’s highest certification without needing an additional exam: Oracle Database 12c Maximum Availability Certified Master.

Very few people have achieved this certification, I am proud to be one of them.
