Under Oracle’s certification upgrade policy, professionals who hold the Oracle Database 19c OCP certification can earn the Oracle AI Database 26ai OCP certification by passing a single upgrade exam:
1Z0-183: Oracle AI Database Administration Professional
I took this exam in March this year and found it reasonably straightforward. I scored 80 and got my 26th certification from Oracle.
Although the 1Z0-183 exam covers new features in Oracle AI Database 26ai, including AI Vector Search and machine learning integration, much of the exam still tests knowledge from the Oracle Database 19c OCP track.
The path for new candidates
Candidates who do not hold an older OCP certification must pass two exams, in order, to earn the 26ai OCP certification:
- 1Z0-182: Oracle AI Database Administration Associate
- 1Z0-183: Oracle AI Database Administration Professional
Oracle’s official exam page lists Oracle Master Silver DBA Oracle AI Database 26ai, which is awarded through 1Z0-182, as a prerequisite for 1Z0-183. Therefore, new candidates need to pass both exams.
For 19c OCP holders
If you already hold the Oracle Database 19c OCP certification, the upgrade route is much shorter: passing 1Z0-183 is enough to move to the Oracle AI Database 26ai OCP certification.
In my view, the exam is not difficult. Give it a try.
